Pop up bike lane

In 2023, Bike Durango received a grant from People for Bikes to install a “pop-up” bike lane to demonstrate what a protected, delineated bike lane would look and feel like in our town.
We installed the removable bike lane delineators—called “The Wave” and made by Saris—on E. 2nd Avenue between 14th and 15th streets.
The idea was to provide a safe connection between the Animas River Trail and downtown Durango.
