Pop-up bike lane!
In 2023, Bike Durango received a grant from People for Bikes to install a “pop-up” bike lane to demonstrate what a protected, delineated bike lane would look and feel like in our town.
We installed removable bike lane delineators called “Waves” made by Saris Infrastructure on E. 2nd Avenue between 14th and 15th streets.
The idea was to provide a safe connection between the Animas River Trail and downtown Durango.
